🚒🐄 Talk about an unusual rescue!

Our Fire Rescue team was called out by Animal Control to help rescue a cow that had fallen into a ditch.

It may not be the typical call, but our crews are always ready to lend a hand - no matter the size of the rescue! 💪🐄

This morning, our firefighters were out across Lancaster County helping students safely out of their cars and welcoming them back for the first day of school. We’re always proud to see our crews showing up for our community — even before the school day begins!

This week, firefighters from Lancaster County Fire Rescue and Indian Land Fire Rescue came together to sharpen their skills, strengthen teamwork, and prepare for the emergencies our communities depend on them to handle.

In this video, Lancaster County firefighter Mike Wysowski explains why realistic, hands-on training is essential to preparing firefighters for the moments that matter most. Training side by side builds the communication, coordination, and trust that make all the difference when seconds count. Through countywide training and mutual aid, our firefighters are prepared to respond together whenever and wherever they're needed.

🚒🐴 Fire safety is even more memorable when it's hands-on!
Our Fire Rescue team recently partnered with the Lancaster County Coroner's Office Mounted Response Unit to visit a local summer camp, where campers learned important fire safety tips, met first responders, and got an up-close look at our mounted team.

No destination is worth risking your life.
Floodwaters may look shallow, but just a few inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road, and it's impossible to know what's hidden beneath the surface. Roads can be washed out, debris can damage your vehicle, and conditions can change in seconds.
If you come across a flooded roadway:
🚫 Don't drive through it.

📱 Stay informed about weather alerts and road closures.
❤️ Help keep yourself, your family, and first responders safe.
