Lancaster County Children's Alliance

Lancaster County Children's Alliance The reality is that many children in Lancaster County and throughout Pennsylvania are abused.

The Lancaster County Children's Alliance (LCCA) is the county's only Child Advocacy Center (CAC) that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and compassionate services to child victims of abuse accredited through the National Children's Alliance. The Lancaster County Children’s Alliance, as a Children’s Advocacy Center, brings together in one location child abuse professionals who can support the ne

eds of the child victims and their families. A Children’s Advocacy Center is woven and tied together by community agencies and professionals. The team works together to reduce the trauma victims experience and enhance the ability to respond to child maltreatment. The Lancaster County Children’s Alliance embraces the fundamental elements that make up the ten NCA Standards for Accredited Members. Seven core disciplines form a multi-disciplinary team and lead the investigation with efficiency. Team members and LCCA staff provide services to victims and non-offending family members at child-friendly facilities. The Lancaster County Children’s Alliance believes a joint investigative approach, where information can flow seamlessly among the professionals who need it- assists families, helping them understand the system and refer to needed resources and services. Like the quilts Lancaster County is known for, the Children’s Alliance brings together individual pieces to form a source of comfort for victims and the families from beginning to end.

Yesterday LCCA staff were joined by members of our multidisciplinary team current and past - from law enforcement, Lancaster County Children and Youth Agency, Lancaster County District Attorney's Office, Victim/Witness Services through the DA Office, YWCA Lancaster SAPCC, Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, as well as community supporters, service providers, and local government officials to celebrate our 20th anniversary Open House. We were happy to see so many new and familiar faces touring our center and painting rocks for our new inspirational rock garden. We want to thank everyone who came to support us, those who have generously donated to help us continue our mission through the years, and all of the hard work from our multidisciplinary team members every day in the effort to keep children safe in our community.

Once a month LCCA staff joins together with our multidisciplinary team members for Case Review, one of our standards for accreditation through the National Children's Alliance. The focus of Case Review is to ensure positive outcomes and address multidisciplinary needs for the children we serve. LCCA staff wore their blue to this month's meeting in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. We appreciate all of the hard work from our staff and multidisciplinary team partners throughout the year serving the children of Lancaster County.
