The Garrard County Water Association was formed in the late 1960’s with the goal of extending potable water service to areas of need within the county. These initial efforts laid a solid foundation for the present Association. Today the Association serves approximately 5,500 homes, farms, and businesses, making it among the top three water associations in the state in terms of customers served. Wi

th approximately 400 miles of main distribution line the Association presently serves customers in rural Garrard, Madison, Lincoln, and Rockcastle counties. The Association continues to hold to the ideals of its founders of providing high quality, potable drinking water to all potential households.

The service men are actively working on a leak on Cartersville Rd. This leak may cause low pressure or outages in the whole Cartersville area. We appreciate your patience and service will be restored as soon as possible.

The service men are in the Cartersville area of Garrard County doing some maintenance work. They will be turning valves and doing some flushing. If you experience lower pressure it should return to normal within a few minutes.

If you live north of Fuzzy Duck Rd to the Kentucky River possibly including the River Run area you may experience low pressure due to a leak. The service men are actively working on the repair.

We apologize for the inconvenience for the water issues on the north end. There was an unexpected problem that came up while performing the maintenance needed to distribute water. There is no boil water advisory and pressure should start improving throughout the day.

The North end of Garrard County may experience low pressure throughout the week. This will be due to maintenance on the water tank. Some pressure loss is unavoidable at this time but will be restored as soon as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes and appreciate your patience.

We wanted to make our customers aware that over the next few days that someone contracted by GCWA will be in the Cades Cove area changing out meters. Service may be interrupted while the change out is in process and will return to normal as soon as finished. If you have any questions feel free to contact the office.

We would like to remind our customers of the likelihood of frozen pipes during the upcoming cold weather as temperatures will be below freezing. As a precaution, you may want to let your faucets slowly drip during the cold spell. If you have a broken lid on your water meter, please call the office at 859-792-4501 to request one to be replaced.
