Joshua trees are blooming at Saddleback. Wildflowers are abundant along the trails. Wait for the heatwave to be over or hike very early or late in the day and bring plenty of water.

Saddleback is starting to show color. Joshua trees, phacelia and wild rhubarb blossoms are starting to show. Check the weather before visiting because the next few weeks will be a wonderful time to visit the park or go camping.

The first few "belly flowers" have started to pop up at Saddleback. Red-stem filaree and fiddleneck have started to bloom throughout the park. Flowers are still sparse and cold weather and rain next week may slow growth and the opening of blossoms. Special thanks to our Trail Watch volunteers for sending in these photos.

Green is returning to the desert. No reports of major flower blooms yet, but stay tuned for the next couple of weeks with these warm temps. Fingers crossed
