Job Title: Emergency 911 Dispatcher / Public Safety Tele-communicator: THIS IS A NIGHT SHIFT POSITION 6PM-6AM

Job Summary:
Are you the calm in the storm? Bluegrass 911 is looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as 911 Dispatchers. As the critical first point of contact, you will be the voice of calm during emergencies, assisting citizens and coordinating prompt, efficient responses for police, fire, and EMS. This is a high-stakes, rewarding career that directly impacts the safety of our community.

Key Responsibilities:
• Emergency Call Taking: Receive 911 and non-emergency calls, assessing situations quickly to determine the appropriate response.

• Dispatching: Dispatch police, fire, or EMS units to scenes, keeping them informed of updates and ensuring safety.

• Multi-tasking: Operate complex, multi-line telephone, CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch), and radio systems simultaneously under stress.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of all calls, including case numbers, times, and locations.

• Crisis Management: Provide pre-arrival instructions (e.g., CPR or medical instructions) during emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D..
• Experience: No experience needed / In house training as well as training through D.O.C.J.T
• Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
• Background: Ability to pass an intensive background investigation, polygraph examination, and drug screening.
• Skills: Strong typing ability, must be able to work with computers and new technology and the ability to remain calm, professional, and resourceful in high-stress situations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Shifts: Must be willing to , weekends, nights, and holidays. Our current shifts are 6am-6pm, 10am-10pm, -12am, 6pm-6am ( 12 hour shifts ) Fixed Pittman schedule.
• Requirements: This is considered an "essential personnel" position, requiring presence during emergencies and severe weather.
• Environment: Fast-paced, high-stress call center environment.

Compensation & Benefits
• 17.00 hr uncertified . Certified depends on years of experience.
