An early delivery arrived yesterday — six pallets of beds showed up at the Clay Street Shelter, ready to be moved inside. And the community quickly came together to get the job done!

A big thank you to John, Konner, Beth, Josiah, and Noemi from Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authority ; Mike Reynolds from the Lancaster Stormers ; and several community members from the Lancaster County Food Hub who jumped in to help with unpacking the delivery.

Together, 14 sets of bunk beds and 20 folding cots were delivered and will be distributed between Tenfold, Living Ministries Ephrata, and Clay Street Emergency Shelter's for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

Congratulations to Community Basic's Inc., Valley Youth House and everyone involved in this project on the huge accomplishment of creating Manor Youth House for youth, ages 18-25, aging out of the foster care system/experiencing homelessness in Lancaster County!

🔥 CODE RED: Severe Weather Alert for Lancaster County🔥

A Code Red has been issued for Wednesday, July 1 at 12:00 PM through Saturday, July 4 at 8:00 PM due to an excessive heat advisory.

🌡️ Extreme heat can be life-threatening—especially for those without access to cooling or shelter. During this time we ask all residents to check on neighbors, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor activity.

6/29/26 - The Lancaster County Homelessness Coalition Network has been notified of the alert. As we receive updates from our partners on resources, we will update the information in this post to provide the latest available cooling and water stations.

Local decisions around zoning and housing affect affordability, neighborhood change, development patterns, and access to opportunity, yet many residents never learn how those decisions are made or how to participate in them.

Join the Coalition for Sustainable Housing for Housing Advocacy 101, a three-part dinner and conversation series focused on helping community members better understand housing challenges, local decision-making, and practical ways to engage in local conversations about the future of Lancaster County.

The Lancaster County Homelessness Coalition is seeking community members to join a workgroup that will help inform the development of services provided at the new housing and community Prince Street Project.

Located in the heart of Lancaster City, the Prince Street Project will create affordable and transitional housing opportunities while connecting residents to services, workforce development, and community resources. As planning moves forward, we want to ensure the voices of our community help guide the project’s future.

We are especially interested in hearing from:

✔ Individuals with lived experience of homelessness or housing instability
✔ Neighborhood residents
✔ Community advocates
✔ Service providers
✔ Business and community leaders
✔ Anyone passionate about creating pathways to housing stability

Workgroup participants will have an opportunity to share ideas, provide feedback, and help ensure the project reflects the needs and strengths of our community.

Deadline to apply: Tuesday, June 30, 2026

🚴‍♂️🔥 We were proud to hit the track at this year’s United Way of Lancaster County, PA Trike Race! Out of 36 competing teams, our team came out strong by winning our first heat but fell short in round 2! 🏆

We’re grateful to have been part of such an energetic community event, where friendly competition, teamwork, and community spirit were on full display. Special thanks to Grace Mentzer and Kelly Haines from Bureau of Police Lancaster City, PA for joining the team.

Congratulations to Armstrong Ceiling Solutions on their first place win. We will be practicing for 2027.
