Founded in the early 1940's when several men in the area reacted to the unsatisfactory performance of the South End Fire Company on Aurora street. The South End Fire Company hand not been answering calls, and neighbors of the William and Aurora streets community took steps to form their own Fire Co.. Sometime in the mid 1950's the Town of Lancaster signed an exclusive agreement with the Twin District VFC to protect the south east portion of the town and the South End Fire Company was disbanded. In the 1950's & 60's the company had a contract with the Town of Cheektowaga to cover the 'no man's land' west of transit road. Boy scout Troop 545 had their first meeting May 12, 1948 & continues to be active in the community through Twin District to this day. Their original log cabin scout lodge was dedicated in 1952 with a new home being built on site in 2010.

Mission: MISSION STATEMENT: TO STRIVE, WITH A POSITIVE AND PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDE, TO PROTECT AND ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE TO THE CITIZENS WHO LIVE, WORK AND VISIT THE TOWN OF LANCASTER THROUGH A COMPREHENSIVE PROGRAM OF EMERGENCY SERVICES DIRECTED TOWARD PUBLIC EDUCATION, PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN THE AREAS OF FIRE, RESCUE, MEDICAL EMERGENCIES, HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INCIDENTS AND DISASTERS. “ WE STILL MAKE HOUSE CALLS”

Last night we had our Ice Water Rescue drill at Como Park. 🥶

Please remember, DO NOT go out on the ice to try and rescue someone. That could cause greater issues. Leave that to the trained professionals and call the fire department. 👍

Tonight our members participated in a Valentine’s Day Celebration at Oishei Childrens Hospital called “Lights of Love”! ❤

In hopes of brightening the day of patients, Twin District and other agencies flashed our lights and sirens while the kids flashed their light sticks back at us.

Oishei Children's Hospital

Twin District will be there!

On Thursday, February 13, from 5:45 - 6:15 p.m., first responders from across Western New York will gather outside Oishei Children's Hospital to shine their vehicle lights to show their love and support for the kids, families, and staff inside the hospital. What a great way to spread the ❤️! #LightsofLove #ValentinesDay

P.S. For those traveling in the area on Thursday evening, there may be slower-than-normal traffic flows near the corner of Ellicott and High Streets from approximately 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.

***Heritage Trail Closure due to Bear sighting***

As a precaution, the Heritage Trail will be temporarily closed between Cemetery Road and Pavement Road due to a sighting of a Black Bear. The sighting was called in by a resident in the area of Pavement Rd and Nichter Road and was verified by Patrol who located tracks in the area. The Town of Lancaster Recreation Department will be placing barricades at Pavement Rd and Cemetery Rd. The DEC has also been advised of the sighting.

Please stay off the Heritage Trail in this area until further notice. These sightings do occasionally happen in our area and our Officers track the Bear as it passes through. If you see the bear, do not approach it and call the Lancaster Police Department at 683-2800.
