Congratulations Yolanda!!

Congratulations to Yolanda Merckle, our Employee of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of 2026!

Since joining the Lancaster Police Department on July 29, 2024, Yolanda has been a constant smiling face and a welcoming presence for both our staff and the community. For many people who walk through our doors, she is one of the first people they see, and she does a great job making sure they are greeted with kindness, patience, and professionalism.

Yolanda’s connection to LPD actually began before she became an employee. She started as a member of the Lancaster Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association and continues to stay actively involved in the program, helping support the department and many of our community events.

Her positive attitude, willingness to help, and continued dedication to LPD make her an important part of our team.

Each year, the legacy stamp showcases a photograph of Ohio’s native wildlife species, selected through a contest and judged on the photo’s originality, composition, technical excellence, and overall beauty. This year’s photo contest is open through September 15 for Ohio residents aged 18 and older. Submitted photos should contain a mammal other than white-tailed deer and be taken in Ohio.
The winner of the legacy stamp photo contest will be announced this fall, and the stamp featuring that photograph will go on sale in March of 2027.
