D-Day Remembrance | June 6, 1944 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, during one of the most pivotal moments in world history.

The members of the Manor Township Police Department join our community in honoring the Greatest Generation and all who served during World War II. May we never forget the courage displayed on the shores of Normandy 82 years ago today.

Yesterday, in the Court of Common Pleas of Lancaster County, Efrain T. Mateo Jr. was convicted of nine charges including R**e, Burglary, and Aggravated Indecent Assault. This conviction was the result of an investigation begun by responding MTPD Corporal Mark Burkholder and Officer Phil Eck, and was continued by Detective Colleen Tatara and Corporal Rockie Tice. Mateo fled after committing the assault, but was located in Chester County and returned with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Task Force and the Lancaster County PA Sheriff's Office. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Lapp and staff from the Lancaster County District Attorney's Office successfully prosecuted the case, and Mateo will later be sentenced by Judge Jeffery D. Wright. We hope the victims have received some measure of justice in this case.

Do you recognize me? 🐶🐾

This dashing 🏃🏻‍♀️ young lady was found running in the field in the 700-800 block of Hershey Mill Road. She’s all white, has a curled tail, and is very small. She does not have a chip, but she is wearing a black and green electric collar.

She is very friendly and is safe at our station, patiently waiting to be reunited with her family.

If this is your dog, or you know who she belongs to, please contact us at 717-664-1180. I’m sure she’d appreciate it!

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women of our Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to this nation. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy every day were paid for by those who never made it home.

From all of us at the Manor Township Police Department, we stand in gratitude and remembrance of our fallen heroes. Their legacy will never be forgotten.

As National Public Works Week 2026 draws to a close, the officers and staff of the Manor Township Police Department would like to recognize and thank our hardworking partners at Manor Township Public Works.

The Police and Public Works departments work side by side throughout the year, and we deeply appreciate the professionalism, dedication, and teamwork of Public Works personnel. We call on them in bad weather, in the middle of the night, or in the heat of summer; they respond to help quickly to resolve the issue at hand. But some of their most important work goes unnoticed - roads are cleared, stormwater is drained, and there is a cut-up tree by the side of the road. No one puts up a sign pointing to problems which were solved.

We appreciate the safe roadways, the assistance with community events, and the beautiful parks and ballfields. Our thanks to Mark Harris and his crew at Manor Township Public Works.
