The School District of Lancaster and the City of Lancaster are developing a Youth Violence Prevention Plan, and input from our community is important to making it meaningful and effective.

If you live or work in Lancaster City, please take a few minutes to complete the Youth Violence Prevention Survey. Your feedback will help the city better understand our community’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities so we can build strategies and partnerships that support young people and create safer, healthier neighborhoods.

This survey only takes a few minutes, and your answers are anonymous if you want them to be. Responses will only be used to inform community planning and engagement around youth violence prevention.

Enter your email at the end for a chance to win a $25 gift card! Emails are kept separately from survey responses.

Take the survey at https://engage.cityoflancasterpa.gov/en/projects/youth-violence-prev

Thank you for helping shape a safer future for Lancaster’s youth!

Please join us for Mayor Arroyo’s Town Hall Meetings.

Over the next few months, we will be hosting Town Halls in each quadrant of the city to ensure every neighborhood has the opportunity to connect directly with the Mayor and City leadership.

In addition to hearing updates from the Mayor, all City departments will be represented. Staff will be available to answer questions, provide information, and assist residents with services: including bill payments and other city related needs.

We look forward to seeing you and continuing the conversation in your neighborhood.

🎉The 2026 Neighborhood Leaders Academy is Officially Underway!🎉

On January 22, 2026, the City of Lancaster’s Department of Neighborhood Engagement, alongside Mayor Jaime Arroyo, kicked off this year’s Neighborhood Leaders Academy at J.P. McCaskey High School—bringing civic leadership directly into the classroom.

Throughout the school year, J.P. McCaskey students meet monthly with city leaders to explore topics ranging from local government and civic responsibility to public safety and community engagement.

The academy culminates with students developing and pitching their own community-based projects to city and school district leaders, complete with a project vision, timeline, and budget. It’s real-world learning with real-world impact!

We’re proud of these students for stepping up, asking questions, and GETTING INVOLVED to help shape the future of the City of Lancaster, PA! 👏
