Today, we commemorate Juneteenth, a day of profound significance marking the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. This federal holiday celebrates the date of June 19, 1865, when enslaved people of African descent located in Galveston, Texas finally learned of their freedom from the slavery system in the United States two YEARS after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Our bookmobile is proud to offer books that uplift Black stories, history, and achievements. Visit us to pick up a powerful read and reflect on the journey towards freedom and equality.
