The Lancaster Police Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our recent K9 Golf Outing. Your generosity continues to make a meaningful impact on our K9 program.

For those who were unable to attend, we are excited to share that our department is currently training our newest four-legged officer. Thanks to the incredible support from the golf outing, along with a very generous donation from a foundation that wished to remain anonymous, we are able to continue and strengthen our K9 program.

Once training is complete, our new K9 will be certified in drug and narcotics detection, article searches, and tracking. These specialized skills will enhance our department's ability to protect and serve the community while providing valuable assistance in a variety of law enforcement situations.

Now we are asking for your help in naming our new K9! To further meet the needs for our newest four-legged officer, we are having a friendly voting fundraiser. It is Back to School Season! St. Clements starts tomorrow, and Winskill Elementary and Lancaster Middle/High Schools begin September 1st.
With that in mind, we would like to remind all drivers that in the areas of our schools the speed limit is 15 mph whenever pedestrians are present. Our patrol activity is increasing in these areas and speeding citations will be issued if over the limits. We realize everyone is trying to get where they need to go and that can be a rushed process. However, when entering our school areas, the speeds must be low to keep everyone safe. Please allow yourself an extra minute in your schedule to slow down for the school zones. Fines for speeding in a school zone start at $187.90.

With Halloween being on a Saturday this year, we wanted the communities input on what time we should do Trick or Treating. Share your answers on the google form. Input ends Sunday night.

Update: We did some checking and the sunset will be around 6pm on October 31st. We noticed a lot of people were wanting it to go till 8pm.

The Grant County Fair is starting today! Be sure to check out the Grant County Fair- Wisconsin for all events and announcements! This means an increase in traffic this week on E. Elm Street as well as increased sounds from the Grandstand events. Be safe and enjoy the Fair!
