On 8/17/2026, East Lampeter Township Police recognized Officer Sam Sanger during a township board meeting. Ofc. Sanger was honored as one of Lancaster County's DUI Top Guns this year and was presented with a plaque by Chief Zerbe. Ofc. Retail Theft
East Lampeter Township Police responded to Weis Markets located at 1603 Lincoln Highway East to take a report of multiple retail theft incidents. It was learned between 7/11/2026 - 8/5/2026 the pictured subject stole over $1,200 worth of merchandise on several occasions. The subject appears to be operating the pictured silver minivan Police are requesting assistance in identifying this person. On 8/6/2026 at approximately 3:30 p.m., a patron of Walmart (2034 Lincoln Highway East Lancaster, PA) accidentally left her purse in a shopping cart and left the area. The patron returned to collect the forgotten purse and discovered it was missing. Investigation revealed the pictured person removed the purse from the shopping cart, made no attempts to turn it over to Walmart staff and ultimately stole it. Police are requesting assistance in identifying the person. School Bus Safety

The Conestoga Valley School District's first student day is on Wednesday August 19th. As a reminder, please be cautious when following or approaching school busses picking up or dropping off students. All traffic shall stop at least ten (10') feet before reaching a school bus when the red signals are flashing. In addition, all traffic must stop in both directions. Please help to keep our younger community members safe by following traffic rules.

IT's ALMOST HERE!

The East Lampeter Township Police Department is inviting residents to attend National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at The Shops at Rockvale (near the Eagles Pro Shop).
This free community event will bring together local first responders and residents for an evening of fun and community engagement. Attendees can enjoy live music, games, food trucks, and the opportunity to meet police officers and other public safety professionals. East Lampeter Township Police will have a drone on display and demonstration.
National Night Out is a nationwide event designed to strengthen police-community partnerships and promote neighborhood camaraderie. Families of all ages are encouraged to attend and enjoy an evening celebrating community spirit and public safety.

BEWARE: Theft from Vehicles
The East Lampeter Township Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors to help protect their vehicles and valuables by locking their car doors whenever they are unattended.

Over the past several weeks, we have seen an increase in thefts from unlocked vehicles, as well as cars being stolen because they were left unlocked with the keys inside.

Taking a few extra seconds to lock your doors and remove your valuables and keys can go a long way in preventing these crimes. If you notice any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please report it to the police.

Together, we can help keep our community safe.

On 7/18/2026 at approximately 2:45 p.m., the pictured group entered the Fine Wine and Good Spirits store in the 2300 blk of Lincoln Highway East and stole multiple bottles of alcohol valued at over $300.
