As EMS Week comes to a close, we want to recognize the people behind the uniforms at Garrard County EMS.

Every day, our crews respond to emergencies, comfort patients and families, support one another, and serve this county with professionalism and compassion. The work can be exhausting, stressful, and unpredictable, but they continue to show up ready to take care of their community.

We are incredibly proud of the team we have built and grateful for the dedication they show both on and off the truck.

Great news for Garrard County!

The Garrard County Fiscal Court announced at a recent meeting on Monday, April 13, that Ephraim McDowell Health (EMH) will receive $5 million in state funding that will pave the way for the development of a freestanding emergency department in northern Garrard County.

Janine Mackey-Hart, our Education Coordinator and Paramedic, recently experienced every parent’s worst nightmare. Her son suffered a life threatening medical emergency.

Janine has dedicated nearly 20 years to EMS. She has helped lead the way in our service and throughout our region. She has poured countless hours into building and strengthening our education department, mentoring providers, and ensuring that our crews are prepared to serve this community at the highest level. Her impact reaches far beyond Garrard County.
