For 25 years, International Overdose Awareness Day has united people around the world to honor those we've lost, support those left behind, and inspire action that saves lives.
While we wish there were no need to recognize this day, the reality is that overdose continues to impact individuals, families, and communities everywhere. The good news is that overdose is preventable. We know there are ways to reduce risk, increase awareness, and help keep people safe. By having honest conversations, learning from one another, and treating every person with compassion and dignity, we move closer to a future where fewer lives are lost.
And while this day remains important today, our hope is that one day it won't be needed at all. ๐
