Our crews have seen a rise in serious scooter, e-bike, and motorcycle incidents involving minors. That’s why is echoing the Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s message: safety must come first.

Pasco Sheriff's Office is seeing an increase in electric motorcycles on sidewalks. These vehicles resemble electric bicycles, but riders may not realize they're actually riding a motorcycle. This Tip Tuesday, PSO is providing additional information about electric motorcycles below. Please review this information and drive safely!

When it comes to hazardous materials emergencies, preparation is everything.

Members from Fire Rescue, Hernando County Fire Rescue, and Hillsborough County Fire Rescue recently completed hands-on compressed natural gas emergency response training as part of our HazMat Technician class.

Through realistic scenarios and practical exercises, crews sharpened the skills needed to recognize hazards, make critical decisions, and respond safely when seconds matter.

Training like this makes our communities safer and keeps our responders ready when the call comes. 💪

Congratulations to the Addiction & Substance Use Disorders MIH Week Champion, Brian Goldich, and the Pasco County Fire Rescue MIH Team! 🎉

What began as a two-paramedic initiative focused on opioid use prevention has grown into a multidisciplinary, fire-based MIH program serving residents across more than 800 square miles of Pasco County, Florida.

By bringing together community paramedics, social work navigators, an advanced practice provider, and community partners, the program addresses the complex medical, behavioral, and social factors connected to substance use disorders.

Through in-home care, medication management, social work, behavioral health connections, and partnerships with treatment and healthcare providers, the program has achieved an average 49% reduction in unnecessary 911 utilization.

Brian and the Pasco County Fire Rescue MIH team demonstrate how EMS can move beyond responding to substance-related emergencies to building sustained relationships, connecting people with resources, and creating pathways toward stability before the next crisis occurs.

🚨 CRASH WITH ROLLOVER - ZEPHYRHILLS: Fire Rescue safely extricated one patient following a rollover crash on Gall Blvd. and Fort King Rd. in Zephyrhills Wednesday morning (10/14).

crews responded to the two-vehicle crash around 9:30 a.m. and found one vehicle overturned on its side.

Roads in the area were temporarily closed while first responders worked to secure the scene and provide patient care.

Engine 29 crews quickly and safely freed the patient from the overturned vehicle. The patient was transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

🔥 PRESCRIBED BURN (10/15): Conditions permitting, staff from the Southwest Florida Water Management District will conduct a 155-acre prescribed fire at Starkey Wilderness Preserve starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15.

Conditions permitting, staff from the Southwest Florida Water Management District will conduct a 155-acre prescribed fire at Starkey Wilderness Preserve, Serenova Tract in Pasco County starting at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 15. The burn unit is located 1.25 miles west of the Suncoast Parkway, 0.5 miles south of SR 52 and 2.0 miles north of Ridge Road. Prescribed burns play a vital role in protecting conservation lands from uncontrolled wildfires while promoting the health of Florida’s ecosystems. As Florida Task Force teams ramped up ahead of Hurricane Isaias, contributed another specialized resource — our US&R K9 handler.

K9 Handler Justin Walker deployed to the Panhandle with Florida Task Force 4, teaming up with K9 Porsche for this mission while K9 Flynn was away at training.

Porsche, a live‑find K9, was ready to work as the team staged ahead of the storm to support emergency response and recovery efforts.

Thankfully, the area saw limited damage and no K9 search operations were needed, but Justin and Porsche assisted with surveying and documenting impacts to support local agencies.

We’re proud of Justin, Porsche, and the entire FL‑TF4 team for staying ready when Florida needs them most.

After Hurricane Isaias made landfall in the Panhandle with strong winds and widespread impacts, Fire Rescue deployed their US&R and Swift Water Task Force to assist.

Over the course of the mission, our personnel completed recon operations, surveyed affected neighborhoods, and helped identify critical needs for ongoing recovery efforts.

Our teams have now returned home, and we’re grateful for their professionalism, dedication, and service to communities across Florida.
