On August 28, deployed 16 personnel to Texas to help with the Ross wildfire. After a two‑day drive, our team is now fully engaged in strengthening fire lines, working alongside local and state partners.

Northwest Texas brings challenges far different from Florida including steep terrain, shifting winds, and water‑supply limitations.

Our crews have adjusted quickly, drafting water from nearby lakes and ponds to keep operations moving safely and effectively.

We’re proud of our team and grateful for the support from our Pasco community as they continue their work in Texas.

🔥 NEW HIRES ON FIRE: Fire Rescue recruits wrapped their final day with high‑intensity live fire training at the Training Center.

From navigating smoke‑filled structures to running hose lines and tightening up communication, this group proved they’re more than ready for their career ahead.

crews are in Texas assisting with one of North Texas’ largest wildfires on record.

Our Brush Truck Strike Team, operating alongside partners from Polk, Hernando, North Port, Marco Island, and East Lake, is focused on structure protection and strengthening fire lines.

They’re part of a statewide, multi‑agency effort involving hundreds of responders working to contain a wildfire that has burned 85,000+ acres.

🔥 TRAINING TUESDAY: Big congratulations to our Fire Rescue team members who completed Structural Collapse Technician training last week in Manatee County.

This intensive 80‑hour course pushed crews through hands‑on scenarios involving shoring unstable structures, breaching concrete, lifting heavy loads, and accessing simulated trapped victims.

Their hard work strengthens ’s technical rescue capabilities and ensures we’re ready to respond during complex collapse incidents. 💪

When a horse needs a helping hand (or hoof)… you bet we'll be there. 🐴❤️

A‑Shift crews responded to the San Antonio area on Monday (8/31) to help a 33‑year‑old mare who just needed a little boost to get back on her feet.

Her owner and veterinarian were already on scene, and our teams from Ladder 27, Ladder 37, and Heavy Rescue 1 jumped in to lend some gentle support.

With patience, teamwork, and plenty of encouragement, everyone helped guide this sweet senior girl safely upright again. It’s moments like these that remind us we’re here for every member of our community — hooves included.

Another WINNING WEEKEND for our Challenge Team! 💪

Our athletes headed to Deerfield Beach for the Firefighter Challenge Championship Series – Southeast Region Classic (Aug. 20–22) and came home with two BRONZE medals! 🥉

Huge congratulations to Chad Carver and Zach Thornberry for earning 3rd place in both the Tandem Open Male and Hybrid Relay events. Chad, Zach and all of the Challenge Team members continue to show what Fire Rescue is all about — pride, grit, and heart.

Next up: Chad and Zach travel north to Erie, PA for the U.S. National Championships (Sept. 22–26) — let’s cheer them on as they take on the nation’s best! 👏

Today we’re celebrating our three four‑legged celebrities — Boots, Flynn, and Elvis — the fire pups who keep our crews smiling and our stations full of tail wags.

Whether they’re training, visiting with the community, or just brightening someone’s day, these good boys remind us how much joy our K9 teammates bring to the job.

We had a couple of surprise visitors stop by Station 1 — a pair of Sandhill Cranes conducting what we can only assume was a very thorough inspection.

We always enjoy seeing ’s unofficial mascots around our crews.

Fun fact: The oldest known Sandhill Crane fossil — found near Sarasota — is 2.5 million years old. Talk about Florida originals.
