On June 17, our crews teamed up with Primrose School of Wesley Chapel 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐥 for a Free Car Seat Check event — helping families make sure their little ones ride safely every day.

Fire Inspector Justin Walker and K9 Flynn have successfully completed their first Urban Search and Rescue Foundation Skills Assessment in Live Find, earning their Type 2 state certification after just five months of partnership.

This accomplishment represents long days, tough training, and unwavering teamwork.

Justin becomes the first member to certify with a live‑find search and rescue K9, marking a major step forward for our department and the community we serve.

We’re proud of this team and excited to follow their journey toward Type 1 certification in November. 👏

First responders train for the unexpected — and on April 12, that readiness made all the difference.

While the D‑Shift crew on Rescue 12 was finishing a patient transport at AdventHealth North Pinellas, a vehicle suddenly pulled into the emergency bay carrying two people with gunshot wounds.

Firefighters Cory Peele and Keyvis Wright didn’t hesitate. They immediately stepped in alongside hospital staff, providing rapid, life‑saving care to both patients. Their quick actions, calm under pressure, and seamless teamwork helped stabilize a critical situation in seconds.

For their outstanding efforts, Peele and Wright were honored with Lifesaving Awards by leadership and officials at AdventHealth North Pinellas.

Moments like this remind us why we’re — proud of our crews, proud of their professionalism, and proud of the heart they bring to every emergency. 👏 🩵

🔥PRESCRIBED BURN (DADE CITY): Conditions permitting, the Southwest Florida Water Management District will conduct a 65-acre prescribed fire at Green Swamp West Tract starting at 11 a.m. June 16. The burn unit is located 3.4 miles east of Dade City.

Prescribed burns play a vital role in protecting conservation lands from uncontrolled wildfires while promoting the health of Florida’s ecosystems. The District regularly conducts these controlled burns to maintain natural areas, support ecological balance and manage invasive vegetation for the benefit of native plants and wildlife.

🚨 COMMERCIAL FIRE: Fire Rescue extinguished a fire at a shopping plaza Sunday afternoon on the 2600 block of U.S. 19 in Holiday.

Firefighters confirmed no injuries at the scene.

On Sunday, June 14, crews arrived to find light smoke coming from one of the businesses inside the plaza and discovered heavy smoke inside the Rent‑A‑Center. Firefighters made entry and began suppression efforts.

The fire was brought under control, and investigators later determined the cause to be accidental, stemming from an electrical failure.

That’s what happens when highly trained crews answer the call.

Back in March 2026, a collision between a car and a golf cart in Wesley Chapel left eight people injured and in need of emergency care.

Within minutes, our first responders were on scene — calm, focused, and ready to help. Patients had injuries ranging from minor to critical, and the situation was rapidly evolving.

What began as a chaotic scene was quickly brought under control through expert triage, teamwork, and decisive medical care. Crews stabilized every patient and transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

We are proud to honor the responders who worked that incident with Lifesaving Awards — a recognition of their skill, professionalism, and the life‑saving impact of their actions that day. 💛

Fire trucks, big smiles, and tiny future firefighters. 🚒❤️

Station 23 B‑Shift spent part of their day at Cypress Creek Church in Lutz, where moms and their little ones got a hands‑on look at our life‑saving equipment and learned important fire safety tips.

Community moments like these mean a lot to us — connecting with families, answering questions, and helping kids feel comfortable around firefighters and emergency gear.
