Formerly known as the Lamont Mansion, after the couple who originally owned the house. The couple would one night flee the house after Mr. Lamont shot twice at a being, to no effect in the 1930s. The Keefer family bought Summerwind as a summer home, until Mr. Keefer died. Keefer sold the house after being widowed, and the many purchasers were uncomfortable with the property (and were not able to k
eep up payments). A new family bought it in the 1970s, a husband, wife, and 2 daughters. The family would be torn apart, as the man of the house seemingly went mad or was possessed. He would play an organ for hours, and killed his daughter's pet raccoon. Everyone heard strange voices, and guests would leave upon seeing ghostly forms. It's also said a skeleton was seen. Eventually, the family left. Nobody would see the father again. The brother and father of the wife wanted to work on this house. But now the former skeptics were experiencing bizarre events and wanted to be rid of the house. Summer 1988 would see the end of this mansion, several lightning strikes burned the house to only the foundation and chimney which resides on private property. But some say the ruins still hold eerie energy to them. Sources:
