Class 26-03 took another big step toward hitting the streets, completing their live fire evolutions at the Training Center.

After weeks of hard work, training, and preparation, there are only a couple milestones left — graduation and badge pinning this Thursday, September 3, followed by their first day on shift Sunday! 🚒

Great job to every member of Class 26-03 for putting in the work and finishing strong.

A huge thank you to our Live Fire Adjunct Instructors who have dedicated their time and worked hard over the last month and a half preparing these new firefighters for the job ahead.

Congratulations, Class 26-03! The finish line is almost here. 💪🔥

🔥 NORTH TEXAS WILDFIRE DEPLOYMENT

The Brush Truck Strike Team made up of firefighters from Pasco County, Polk County, Hernando County, North Port, Marco Island, and East Lake Fire Rescue continues to play a vital role in Division W in North Texas.

Crews are working to protect threatened structures, reinforce fire lines, and support suppression operations as hundreds of firefighters, dozers, aircraft, and emergency personnel battle one of the largest wildfires in North Texas history.

The fire has already consumed more than 85,000 acres, and conditions continue to challenge containment efforts.

We’re proud of our Pasco County firefighters and all of the Florida crews who answered the call to assist communities hundreds of miles from home.

C-Shift’s Engine 29 crew was called into action for a little four-legged rescue after a cat found itself stuck inside the engine compartment of a vehicle.

Firefighters Ashley Gentz and Travis Rusk carefully worked to free the curious kitty and get it safely out of its unexpected hiding spot.

🧱 BUILDING SKILLS FOR WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

A group of your Pasco County Professional Firefighters — including firefighters, drivers, and captains — recently traveled to Manatee County to complete Structural Collapse Technician training with Team 636.

This intensive 80-hour course, conducted over eight days, prepares firefighters to safely operate at collapsed or heavily damaged structures following hurricanes, explosions, construction accidents, and other major incidents.

Training included:
• Building construction and collapse recognition
• Structural stabilization and shoring
• Breaching and breaking concrete
• Lifting and moving heavy loads
• Cribbing operations
• Victim access and rescue

Much of the course was hands-on, requiring crews to work together to stabilize compromised structures, move heavy objects, breach structural materials, and safely access simulated trapped victims.

Completing this advanced training strengthens our technical rescue capabilities and better prepares our members to respond to complex structural collapse incidents here at home and as part of larger mutual-aid and Urban Search & Rescue operations.

Strong work to everyone who completed the course and continues putting in the time to sharpen their skills.

From land to water, Flynn and Justin continue putting in the work and staying ready for whatever the call may bring! 💪🐕‍🦺🔥

⛈️ Storms outside. Training inside.

When the weather rolled in this afternoon, our newest recruits didn’t slow down — they moved inside and got to work on RIT buddy breathing drills.

Now they’re down to just ONE WEEK before they hit the streets and report to their new shifts across Pasco County. 🚒🔥
