d career with the US Air Force by launching Tom Smith Fire, an operation dedicated to putting the best equipment into the hands of firefighters across the country. Through his integrity and customer focus, the company grew into the leading supplier it is today, serving high profile customers like the US Department of Defense Fire Department. PASSING THE TORCH FROM TOM TO TODD. In 2011, 28-year US Air Force active duty veteran and former Chief Master Sergeant Todd Katz joined Tom Smith Fire to help usher the company into a new era of service. For six years, Tom and Todd worked side by side to advance the company’s mission. In 2016, Tom retired and officially transferred ownership to Todd, who remains committed to longstanding company values and meeting the equipment needs of the nation’s first responders. NOW, FROM TOM SMITH FIRE TO TSF. With a new name, we honor the legacy of our company’s distinguished founder and enter a new age of service to the firefighting community. With our staff made up of retired firefighters and military personnel, TSF is poised to support the industry by providing first-hand expertise and products we back with our good name.
