CONGRATULATIONS! Jane Hansen, the WLRC September Employee of the Month!! Jane,
who serves as Nurse at Aster, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions.

Here’s what our nominators had to say:

I would like to nominate Jane Hansen for Employee of the Month.
Jane is one of the best nurses here on campus. From the moment she arrives until the
end of her shift, she is consistently helpful, dependable, and kind. She is always willing
to lend a hand and is a valuable resource for both staff and residents.
Whenever we have questions about a resident, Jane takes the time to explain everything
clearly and thoroughly, walking us through each step so we fully understand the
situation. Her patience and willingness to teach are deeply appreciated.
When we are short-staffed, Jane never hesitates to step in and help-whether it’s
assisting with showers, helping residents during mealtimes, or simply offering support
wherever it’s needed. She always puts the residents first and goes above and beyond to
ensure they receive the best care possible.
Jane also works extremely well with all of the residents. Her compassionate approach,
calm demeanor, and dedication to high-quality care make her an outstanding nurse and
an incredible team member.
Jane truly exemplifies what it means to be a healthcare professional, and I believe she is
more than deserving of this recognition.

Jane is an outstanding nurse. She cares about the residents that live here. I don’t think
that I ever really see Jane sit down, she is always on the go. She makes sure that the
residents' health needs are taken care of from getting them band aids, applying
absorbate, cleaning out their ears, to doing some of the “dirty” work. Jane also knows
her residents inside and out. She will go on appointments to the doctor and have the
answers and questions that are needed. Jane will also jump in and help the staff if they
need help, she will help reposition, help with meal times and go to the Rec Center to
participate in activities there. It doesn’t even have to be the area that she is working that
day, she will help anyone. Jane also has volunteered to go on Special Olympic trips, trips
to take residents home to visit with their family and fun trips like to Yellowstone. Jane is
also a nurse who can and is willing to work in any area, even though she does have her
favorites. Jane has many years of experience of being a nurse and is a lead nurse for
Aster. Jane also cares about the staff. She is an amazing baker and cook and will bring
in goodies for the staff to help them make it through the day and boost their morale. She
is a sounding board for when staff need someone to talk to.
I for one am glad that Jane decided to come back to WLRC after being gone for many
years. She makes a great impact on the lives of the residents and staff.

CONGRATULATIONS! Kelly Vazquez, the WLRC August Employee of the Month!! Kelly, who serves as a Team Coordinator at Aster, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions.

Here’s what our nominator had to say:

I'd like to nominate my supervisor Kelly Vazquez. As a supervisor she is great at communicating with her staff. She’ll take time to help you understand anything that you may have issues understanding. Not only does she come in early to help the shift coming off with assisting feeding time everyday she will come in and cover shifts that need covered when asked or volunteered. Many of the clients that I see interact with her say they love when she is at work because she gets things done and is always so nice. If she does something not up to s***f she is the first person to say it was her and has usually addressed it or corrected the issue. I’ve worked in a lot of work settings and she is by far my favorite supervisor. She is humble and does not like the spotlight to be on her. But I think that it does need to shine on her and her work ethic, personality, professionalism, and just her attitude towards staff and clients alike. She brings a lot of happiness to the work place and needs to be recognized for it. I sure hope you take what I’ve said into consideration when talking together about her nomination. She is a great asset to WLRC!.

CONGRATULATIONS! Andrew (Andy) Calvert, the WLRC May Employee of the Month!!

Andy, who serves as a Team Coordinator at Clover, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions. Andy received a nomination from Mike Marshall.

Here’s what our nominator had to say:

Andy is the definition of hard work and dedication to the residents he serves and staff he oversees. Andy is never afraid to jump in and do what is needed to get the job done. Andy originally came from grounds but after seeing how well he did with residents I knew he was better suited for client care. Andy always puts his team first and will work extra days off etc to meet the needs of the unit. Andy is just an all around amazing individual that deserves to be told by everyone just how great he is. Andy thank you for all you do and how wonderful it is to have you on the team. Go Andy Go.

CONGRATULATIONS! Michele Sutter, the WLRC June Employee of the Month!! Michele, who serves as a Team Coordinator at Aster, has been recognized for her outstanding contributions. Michele received a nomination from Betty Porter.

Here’s what our nominator had to say:

Michele Sutter is an incredible employee. She is extremely hard working and as a WLRC Supervisor she goes that extra mile. Her leadership skills with working with staff excels. She is so compassionate at training other staff while sharing her years of knowledge. I believe she has over 35 years of employment at WLRC. She is mindful of how she comes across and when training new staff she explains in detail why an L Lift is done and how to properly use a sling among several other aspects of DSP/CNA training. Michele is an example as to what hard work, and dedication is all about. She works other homes on campus and does overtime. If there is an inflatable ball in the air as you enter the room, you automatically know that Michele is doing active treatment with the residents. The knowledge Michele has about the WLRC campus and the history is amazing. Michele definitely deserves employee of the month. I can not thank her enough for the positive difference she has made in both the resident and staff’s lives. I am happy to nominate her, and it is well deserved.

Betty Porter

CONGRATULATIONS! Cassidy Calvert, the WLRC March Employee of the Month!! Cassidy is a DSP here at the Wyoming Life Resource Center.

I would like to nominate a very special person at the Aster house. But first I would like to clarify that everyone that works at Aster are all amazing and hard workers!

This individual comes on shift with a smile on her face and is ready and eager to start working. She amazes me on how she has a great work ethic. Once she comes in, she starts working with all the residents. Whether it be active treatment, playing catch and throw, putting on a movie (it its on the schedule) or repositioning residents that need to be repositioned. It does not matter, but she is actively doing treatment with the residents.

She goes above and beyond when it comes to the Aster house and the residents. Here we have residents assigned to us, well, she does not care, she is happy to help and or assist everyone. I know and understand this job is hard and we all get tired, but I feel as though she is meant to be here, and our residents get very happy whenever she is around them. This girl puts in so much effort, dedication and love into working with our residents. Sometimes I have to remind her to slow down.

She works long hours, is always on time, gets along with everyone and is loved by all. She is positive and brings joy to all who work with her. She is an amazing trainer with new staff, showing them the ins and outs. She is patient with them and shows compassion. She loves what she does and it shows! If I could, I would name her as employee of the year because she is amazing! I appreciate everything that she does and also for our residents.

Thank you, Cassidy Calvert, for being awesome at the Aster House!

Thank you Cassidy for being a part of our WLRC team and creating WOW! You truly deserve this recognition.

CONGRATULATIONS! Clark Bushmeyer, the WLRC April Employee of the Month!! Clark, who serves as a Quality Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), has been recognized for his outstanding contributions.

Clark's office door is always open when he's here. All residents and staff are welcome to chat, vent or ask for help. Clark is always willing to stop what he is doing to visit and help with the residents, even if they are not on his case load. Clark more often than not helps assist with mealtime this is a huge help and appreciated more than he knows. Every day Clark helps get residents home after work he will make several trips back and forth to ensure all residents get home.

Clark often helps when residents are having rough days offering a listening ear. A change of staff, and even taking them to medical appointments. Clark's open door to anyone policy is something that should be modeled by all staff. Clark is a tremendous help to the Paintbrush building, Clover/Aster houses, and all around the campus. Thanks, Clark, for all you do not only for the residents but for all of WLRC Staff.
Niki Decoteau/Laurie Meeks

I’m nominating Clark for several reasons. He is great with our residents, and he is always there to talk with them, assist them and staff whenever anyone needs help. Whether that is assisting residents home or to the doctor or just sitting and talking with them. He genuinely cares about our residents and his calm nature can calm everyone. I’m always greeted with a smile and good morning. We appreciate your Clark. Thank you!
