On behalf of the GMFSA Board of Fire Commissioners, we are pleased to announce that Kevin Crosby has been selected as the next Fire Chief of the Glassy Mountain Fire Department. Chief Crosby comes to Glassy Mountain from the City of Greenville (SC) Fire Department, where he serves as the Assistant Chief of Medical Services. Chief Crosby has served with Greenville County EMS and the South Greenville and Lake Cunningham fire departments before beginning his service with Greenville City in 2013. Memorial Day marked the start of the 100 Deadly Days of Summer travel season, so we encourage you to enjoy the season responsibly.

The 100 Deadly Days of Summer — which runs from Memorial Day to Labor Day —is a busy travel period when we typically see traffic fatalities increase.

Summer shouldn’t be deadly, so let’s all do our part by buckling up, slowing down, and eliminating distractions. And remember — if alcohol is a part of your plans, designate a sober driver.
