“the goal was to learn all you can learn and move to a paid department If this something you really wanted to do”

We had several big trees completely covering the road causing major flooding on Indian meridian Langston fire was cutting down trees for almost 2hrs. And we would like thank Coyle Volunteer Fire Department for coming out and helping us and getting drenched with us. Nothing like falling in a few ditches at 3am cause there is so much water you can’t see the road.

Just a reminder about tornado sirens! 🚨

They’re OUTDOOR warning systems meant to alert people who are OUTSIDE about severe weather like tornadoes, big hail, or dangerous winds. They’re NOT designed to be heard INDOORS—so if you’re inside and don’t hear one, that doesn’t mean there’s no danger. And it DOES NOT mean they didnt go off. Think about… if you’re outside.. you need to take shelter.. if you are inside, you’re under shelter.. 🤯

They usually reach about 1 to 2 miles, depending on the area and conditions.

Make sure you’ve got other ways to get alerts—like a weather app, text alerts, or weather radio. Don’t rely on sirens alone to keep you safe, when their purpose is to alert the OUTDOORS.

Stay weather aware! 🌪️

A day like we had Friday is no where near over. Please be mindful this week that the exact thing that pur out city in an evacuation could very well happen again (hopefully not)

Langston citizens we kindly asking for help given todays high fire risk for the state. we are humbly asking for your support. Given today’s fire threat, which will also lead into early next week, we would like to ask for donations. This is to help the volunteer firefighters Any contribution, regardless of size, will make a meaningful difference in preparing your firefighters for long days. A few fire ground supplies would include -

Gatorade
Water
Hydration packs
Protein bars
Eye drops
Beef jerky
