In October of 1933, the corps revised its Articles of Incorporation and adopted the corporate name used to this day- The Volunteer Medical Service Corps of Lansdale. With the change in name, the corps moved from being a paramilitary organization to one devoted exclusively to emergency medical care and rescue services of the residents of the North P

The numbers only tell part of the story.

Behind every response is a patient in need, a family looking for help, and a VMSC team member ready to make a difference.

Here’s a look at what May looked like across our organization. 💙

🚑 The next generation of EMS starts here.

Our newest EMT cohort officially began this week in Philadelphia, taking the first step toward a career centered around service, compassion, and making an impact in their communities.

Over the next 3 months, these students will train, learn, and grow through hands-on education designed to prepare them for the fast-paced realities of EMS both in the classroom and out in the field. It’s always exciting to watch a new class begin this journey and see future providers take shape.

We’re excited to follow along and cheer them on throughout the course 💙

Another community day in the books ☀️

Today our crews were out at Towamencin Community Day providing standby coverage and spending time with the community all afternoon.

Between kids checking out the ambulances, community members stopping by to chat with crews, and perfect weather for an event, it turned into such a fun day all around.

We love getting the chance to step outside of emergency calls and connect with the people we serve every day 💙

Today, our crews stopped by Inglewood Elementary School’s Olympic Day celebration and made sure to support an amazing cause while we were there.

Students hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser benefiting childhood cancer research, and of course we couldn’t leave without grabbing some lemonade and making a donation 💛

Community moments like these are what it’s all about.

One more EMS Week shoutout we couldn’t forget 👏🐔🚑

A huge thank you to Brown & Brown, our insurance broker, for stopping by during EMS Week and treating our crews to Chick-fil-A meals throughout the day.

From crews coming off calls to teams grabbing a quick bite between transports, it was one of those small gestures that went a long way during a busy week of serving our communities.

We’re incredibly grateful for partners like Brown & Brown who continue to support EMS, recognize the work our teams do, and take the time to give back to the people behind the ambulance doors.

VMSC EMS has officially taken delivery of 2 of our 4 new 2026 Type I ambulances and they’ll soon be hitting the streets across the regions we serve.

These additions reflect our continued commitment to modernizing and strengthening our fleet to better serve the growing needs of our communities across Montgomery, Bucks, Philadelphia, Delaware County, and beyond. Both units are equipped with four wheel drive capabilities, helping our crews respond safely and effectively through all weather and road conditions year round.

As our organization continues to grow, so does our investment in the tools and resources needed to keep our teams ready to answer the call.

Keep an eye out… you may see these new units responding soon 👀

Tonight, VMSC received an EMS Week proclamation from Hilltown Township recognizing the dedication, compassion, and commitment of EMS professionals serving our communities every single day.

We truly appreciate the continued support from local municipalities and community leaders who take the time to recognize the work EMS providers do both on and off the ambulance. Moments like this are a reminder of the strong connection between EMS and the communities we proudly serve.

Thank you for supporting EMS and for recognizing the people who answer the call day and night.
