What a great day!! ❤️

Today I spent the day in Harrisburg advocating for House Bill 2826 alongside fellow mayors Mayor Adam Alberico for Spring City (also a volunteer firefighter!), Mayor of Trappe Heather Blumenthal, and Mayor Samantha Kaag of West Reading (also a firefighter!).

HB 2826 would provide firefighters across the Commonwealth with free cancer screenings every three years. I’m thrilled to share that it passed the House by a vote of 212–1!! 🎉

Thank you to all the House members who voted in support, and a special thank you to Rep. Joe Ciresi for sponsoring this important legislation!

Of course, while I was in Harrisburg, I also had to show some love and support for our wonderful Rep. Gina H. Curry! ❤️ She was advocating for Marnie’s Law, which would provide for screening for inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) when one dose of antibiotics is ineffective, and celebrating the 3rd birthday of the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus.

So much important work happening!

I’m exhausted, but my heart is full. ❤️ What a meaningful and productive day!

I had a great time last night at the opening of the Stories We Carry exhibit at 2020 House. What a wonderful collaboration bringing together the history of Lansdowne. Make sure you stop by and see this when you have time. The gallery will be opened on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Today, I’m taking a moment to recognize Indigenous Peoples’ Day and Columbus Day.

Indigenous Peoples’ Day is an opportunity to recognize the history, resilience, and contributions of Indigenous peoples and to remember that their stories are an important part of our country’s history.

It’s also a time to recognize the Italian American families whose heritage, traditions, and contributions have helped shape our communities over generations.

Our history isn’t always simple, but I believe it’s important to acknowledge it, learn from it, and respect the different experiences that have shaped who we are today.

At the end of the day, building a strong community starts with understanding, respect, and making sure everyone feels they belong. ❤️

Another PSAB Fall Leadership Conference in the books! Erie was beautiful! 🍂

Lots of new things learned and discussed, some not-so-comfortable conversations that are still necessary, and great opportunities to network and catch up with fellow borough leaders from across Pennsylvania.

Always grateful for the chance to learn from each other and share ideas. Looking forward to the next conference in June!!

My heart is heavy today.

Here in Erie, nine people, including two children, lost their lives in a domestic dispute. Back home in the Philadelphia area, two police officers were shot while responding to a call. One has since passed away, leaving behind a wife and two children.

There are no words that can ease the pain these families are experiencing. Not too long ago, our own community experienced a tragedy, and I know how deeply these moments can affect families, first responders, and an entire community.

My heart is with everyone who is grieving, and I ask you to please join me in keeping all of these families in your thoughts and prayers.

On a personal note, thank you to everyone who knew I was in Erie and reached out to check on me and make sure I was safe. Your kindness means more than you know. ❤️

Sorry I couldn’t be there today, but I couldn’t be prouder of our Central Business District and everyone who worked so hard to make this happen! ❤️ Congratulations to Lansdowne Economic Development Corporation (LEDC), our Borough team, and all our partners on this exciting achievement. So much to be proud of in Lansdowne, with so much more ahead!

Neither rain nor distance could keep me from catching up with my mayor friends at Downingtown Fall Fest! ☔️🍂

I love the friendships I’ve made through this crazy mayor life, and I’m so glad I got to spend some time with Mayor Adam Alberico for Spring City and Mayor Erica Deuso. ❤️

Always better when we get to do this together!

Thank you to my friend and Upper Darby Mayor Edward Brown for coming to Quizzo in support of the Lansdowne Public Library!!! We did NOT win but it was a lot of fun 🤣
