It's slightly cooler today than the past two days, with a 105 degree heat index. Whether you're venturing out or staying in, stop by for some more or less patriotic and Philadelphia themed postcards!

I came back after neglecting the Little Free Mailbox for a month, between the end of middle school festivities, a week out of town, and some kind of plague, to find that it had been taken care of in my absence. Thank you to the neighborhood artist for the adorable hand painted matryoshka and frozen treats postcards (mint chocolate chip is my personal favorite) and to the anonymous donor of a pile of thank you cards. It's been so lovely that, as I've found myself somehow ever more busy and occasionally irritated at the minor vandalism, the community has stepped in whenever I've stepped away. More to come soon, however!

The annual Little Free Mailbox with cherry tree photo, from a few weeks ago and posted belatedly. I'm still having periodic trouble with kids taking out all the cards and scattering them around the neighborhood, so I'm continuing to put out small quantities of stationery at a time. It's discouraging, but not discouraging enough to give up on it!

This is a belated acknowledgement, but there are still some left! An anonymous artist left quite a few of these fantastic hand painted postcards, in anticipation of Passover treats. I'm especially partial to the fruit slices (both the cards and in real life).

Happy no-longer-February! Back when I was having trouble with the Little Free Mailbox being repeatedly cleaned out and I was being very judicious about how much stuff I put out at a time, shared these Dungeons and Dragons cards and matching stamps. I don't know anything at all about D&D, but I just broke into a sheet of the stamps for a Stranger Things card I made and these really are quite beautiful cards, so it seemed like a good time to get them out!

Also, while I so very much appreciate the intentions of whoever has been leaving books on a regular basis, I've been relocating them to the Little Free Library at the Y so I have room for the stationery!

I've held onto these incredibly cute Goodnight Moon postalettes from for too long! Stop by and get them before the snow starts and/or if you need to step away from the news for a bit.

Thank you mystery donor for sharing these adorable hand painted postcards! The nicest thing about the Little Free Mailbox has been that every time I neglect it for a few weeks, someone else always steps in to make sure there are cards available. I've refreshed the postcard supply and will be adding some more stationery before this weekend's snow storm.

Thank you for these USPS holiday cheer cards and stamps! I was glad to get to see the art in a larger format--apparently the designs are collages made from painted gardening book pages. I think the cards are actually nicer than the stamps. I also added a bunch more Christmas cards, postcards, and stamps to the Little Free Mailbox.

Thank you to the mystery donor who gave me another opportunity to play the stamp matching game!
