We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Habitat was founded on the conviction that everyone deserves a decent and affordable place to live in dignity and safety, and that decent shelter in decen

t communities should be a matter of conscience and action for all. During our 35+ year history in Greater Lansing, Habitat Capital Region has provided direct housing services to over 1,000 families through affordable homeownership, home repair, and ramp installation programs.

June is National Homeownership Month! 🏡 At Habitat for Humanity Capital Region, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home. This month, we're highlighting the power of homeownership.

We're especially excited to celebrate two new homeowners at our Ingham Street Home Dedications on June 17. After months of community support and volunteer power, we will welcome these families home! 💪 This month, stay tuned to see photos from the dedication, and information on our upcoming Valencia Project development!

Edward is the second homebuyer partner to pick out finishes this week! 🏡 He got to see his floor plan + choose materials and colors for his roof, appliances, siding, and more. We talked a little about what he envisions for his future home: blossoming trees and a vegetable garden in the backyard!

Edward and Souci are our first two homebuyer partners on Valencia Blvd., which breaks ground this summer. 🛠️ Shout out to our Homeowner Services Director, Amanda, for her hard work - she is the reason our homebuyer partners have such a smooth experience. 💪

On Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), we’re recognizing the importance of accessibility both on and offline. Our graphics, color schemes, and fonts are optimized for those with low vision, and we offer in-person assistance for those who can't access our digital resources and applications.

Offline, we help neighbors maintain independence and safety through our ramp program. This fiscal year, we are up to 22 ramps, with more to be built! 💪
