The Company K Michigan 1st Sharp Shooters highway on M22. I am honored to have a small part of this road naming that recognizes a group of brave soldiers that served in the Civil War before they were citizens. These heroes should have been given their place in history long before now. Congratulations to my friend Jack O’Malley who brought this oversight to the attention of the state and should have his name on the bill signing. Jack O’Malley, Sen. John Damoose and myself working together got it over the line. Thank you Lisa Trombley for attending this important event. Thank you to Scott Swander for his leadership.

For those of us in northern Michigan, we know what this season was like, feet of snow dumped in one storm, flooding and critical infrastructure down for a week or more.
