Yesterday afternoon, I was getting ready to head out for the day, and all of a sudden in the door comes a few of our employees with this cake!! I was astonished! Wow! Thank you!

I forget that the role I play is important, and I need support and encouragement too. The staff that we have has always made me feel that way- and this random act of kindness was very much appreciated! Put a smile on my face and made me feel good to know my efforts are acknowledged. THANK YOU ALL!

Words aren’t enough for the staff who work for us on a daily basis and put in effort to help others, be consistent, show up, take calls, act as role models, care and communicate with clients, show empathy and compassion- and just be patient with them every day. I admire the work that you all do and am grateful to have each and every one of you! We are an amazing team and continue to build a program that makes me proud to own. Without all of you, your dedication, support and commitment- this couldn’t be possible. It only gets better and better the more we learn and grow. So, thank you all as well for the support and being an awesome Pinnacle team! 💜💜

Day 10- Recovery Warrior Recognition. This is Eddie. He is the epitome of hard-work and dedication. He has overcome so many obstacles and fought battles that many of us haven’t seen- both physically, emotionally, mentally and he continues to apply every single step to his success in recovery with grace and humility.

Eddie is quiet, reserved and often an observer, watching how others behave, how their actions meet their words, and he leads by example to show and prove recovery can be done without lip service but instead with consistency, time, effort, and action. He is always pushing to go above and beyond, striving to do better, be better and pushes others to see their potential as well. He single handedly made every single one of our Overdose Awareness shirts within 2 days, and never complained once! This is the type of person he is- you give him a task, and he will go to the ends of the earth to finish it, with perfection, and on time. He is just that guy!

His perseverance to overcome whatever challenges that come his way is remarkable. Anyone who knows Eddie, can say without a doubt that he has transformed his entire life. We have had the pleasure of watching his growth and seeing his continued success. Eddie- THANK YOU- for your daily hard work, your commitment to Pinnacle, your recovery and being the guy who despite every obstacle, finds a pathway to success! You are a blessing! We are so proud of you! 💜💜

Day 9- Recovery Recognition day for this guy- Ralph H. The guy whose phone never stops ringing. Where’s Ralph? When’s Ralph getting here? Can Ralph take me to XYZ place? I want to go with Ralph… He is sought after by many of our clients, people in the community and by his friends- which is not surprising because he is the guy who shows up. When someone calls, or needs something, he shows up. This is true dedication. It speaks volumes to the way he lives his life in recovery today. He not only lives recovery, he helps others find it too. And it’s remarkable to see. He is one of our guys who recently received his CPRC certification, and co-founded Brick-by-Brick Recovery. His motivation and dedication speaks for itself in his daily effort with others. A small example of his testimony was this:

Today, I am a state-certified CPRC. I am also a co-owner of Brick by Brick Recovery in Lansing, Michigan, and I continue to work at Pinnacle Recovery Services as a CPRC. Most recently, after 22 years of involvement with the legal system in Eaton County, I graduated from Swift and Sure Probation in Eaton County.

Today, I am not only in recovery—I am in a position to help others find recovery. I have turned some of the most difficult experiences of my life into a purpose. I am able to sit with people who are struggling and tell them, from personal experience, that their lives can change.

Every day, I am grateful for the opportunity Pinnacle Recovery Services gave me. The opioid funding I received was more than financial assistance. For me, it was an opportunity to keep going when I was vulnerable, to rebuild my life, and ultimately to become the man I am today.

I am living proof that when someone is given the time, support, and opportunity to recover, their life can change in ways they may never have imagined.

Ralph- We are proud of you. And are grateful for your service to clients both in and out of Pinnacle. Thank you for showing others recovery is possible with hard work and dedication! Give him a SHOUT OUT!! 💜💜

Day 7- Scott was one of our residents many years ago, and then became a peer recovery coach. He has gone on to continue his recovery journey and has done amazing! Regained trust with his family, earned a sense of pride and belonging in the community and helps lots of other people get and stay sober. Here is what he had to say about his journey:

There were miles where the road grew steep and dark,And the shadows tried to steal the final spark.I carried heavy burdens, steps weary and slow,Walking through a valley only God could fully know.I faced the longest nights, the mornings cold and gray,With a heart so bruised and worn along the way. There were moments on this path where I thought I’d surely fall,When the weight of yesterday felt like too much to bear at all.But every single step, through the trauma and the tears,Through the quiet, hidden battles and the echoes of the fears,An unseen hand was holding every fragment of my soul,Guiding every stumble, working gently to make me whole.I may bear the scars of where the road was rough and long,But those scars are living proof of a faith that's growing strong. When the world pushed hard enough to bend me to the floor,Grace stepped in and whispered that I could take one step more.I survived the storm, though the winds were fierce and loud,And I am walking out of darkness, looking past the heavy cloud. For looking back across the road and every path I had to take,I can see the faithful truth: God didn’t let me break.

We are proud of you Scott. You are a great role model. Thank you for sharing your experience and being a huge inspiration to others. 💜
