Step back in time at the Haven Hill Festival at Highland Recreation Area.

On Saturday, September 26 from 10am-3pm, explore the old estate grounds of the Ford family, watch an 1860’s vintage base ball game and learn the stories behind the buildings at Haven Hill.

Are you walking the Mackinac Bridge on Labor Day?

On Monday, September 7, the Bridge will be closed to public traffic from 6:30 am to noon. If you're in the area, but not walking the bridge, what are you going to do?

Here are a couple suggestions:

Visit Straits State Park in St. Ignace. It's a great vantage point to see everyone walking the bridge and there are some really great trails that you might want to check out.

Below the bridge? Visit nearby Wilderness State Park, just 5 miles from Mackinaw City. There are lots of geocaches to find there and lots of beautiful views and trails, too.

A. Speed up and pass quickly because you have the right of way
B. Pass silently and throw a carrot at the horse after you are a safe distance ahead
C. Communicate with the rider and let them tell you the safest way to pass
D. Leave the trail to get around them.
