Originally formed in 1956, as a school for children with developmental disabilities (The Lansing School of Special Education), LARC has g

rown to provide services and supports to approximately 100 individuals across the Chicagoland Area. Supports include service facilitation, community day services, choice-driven classroom & recreational activities, job training & placement, and community-integrated living arrangements for 44 individuals in single-family group homes throughout the community. Thanks to ComEd and the Village of Lansing!
Residential Supervisor Michelle Johnson and the rest of the LARC family thank ComEd and the Village of Lansing for providing Emergency Preparedness Kits. LARC's offices, day program facilities, and 10 CILAs in town all lost power for multiple days during the August 11 storms/tornado. The kits will help us be even better prepared should that happen again.

Boy, have we missed these bright, shining faces! LARC offices and CDS are back open today after experiencing a loss of power, phones, and internet, as well as property damage during the storms last Tuesday. We are sorry for the limited communication we had during this time. We hope that all of our LARC family is emerging safe from the storm and beginning to rebuild. We are stronger together!
