Lansing is about 20 minutes from Jefferson and West Jefferson, the seat of Ashe County, is only 45 minutes from Boone (NC) and is less than an hour from Abingdon (VA) or Mountain City (TN). You could get here from Charlotte or Winston-Salem in about 2-1/2 hours and 15 minutes from the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Just a quick note here to draw your attention to all the work going on in the Creeper Trail Park. We have a crew doing extensive work in the main park at N & W Lane here in Lansing. This crew is doing stream restoration work and have multiple trucks, large machinery, and heavy stones in the park. Please stay mindful of these as you walk and enjoy the park. Enjoy premier trout fishing along a designated 2.5-mile stretch of Big Horse Creek that is easily accessible from Lansing Creeper Trail Park. This beautiful section of stream also features a handicap-accessible fishing platform.
