Description: “The Story of Edgar Sawtelle” was a 2008 Oprah book club pick and the authors debut novel. It is set on a Wisconsin farm in the first half of the 20th century, following a mute boy navigating family tragedy, betrayal and his bond with a fictional breed of dogs. For fans of lyrical prose and psychological depth.

This is a gratitude post. As part of our summer reading program this year we served children bag lunches on Fridays. This takes a village of friends, donations and volunteers to make happen. We had a record number of reading logs turned in and we are creating a whole new cohort of young people who have happy memories at the library. When their little brains begin to associate reading, books, fun, games, art and JOY then we start to build lifelong readers. And if we can do that for even a few kids, I think it's worth a turkey sandwich. Thank you all so much for your support. 💛📚
