🚨 REMINDER: The library will be CLOSED on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day.

🚨Sewer line cleaning and videotaping is continuing this week (8/31 - 9/4)🚨

In an effort to help residents know when to be prepared for sewer line cleaning, we have created an interactive map. The map is on our GIS site and will be updated by 10 AM daily to show which streets are complete and which remain to be cleaned. Green lines are finished. Red lines still need to be cleaned. If you live on a red line, remember to do the following:
📌Flush all toilets
📌Close all lids on toilets
📌Cover the toilet with an old towel or rag
📌If residents have floor drains, they may want to cover the drain with an object like an old paint can to prevent water from spraying up due to the pressure in the line.
Occasionally, after the maintenance has been completed, the cleaning operations will remove all water from the plumbing fixtures and traps, which may result in an odor emanating from the drains. Simply run water in the drain to wash the odor away. Please direct any questions you may have to the City of Lansing Wastewater Utility Department, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The department can be reached at (913) 727-2206.
