At approximately 12:30 p.m. today at TF South, roughly 50 students initiated an unscheduled walkout to protest ICE. This action was neither planned nor authorized by T.F. South administration, as we had already been working with student leaders to coordinate a structured educational protest for later this month. As students exited the building, the fire alarm sounded. The Lansing Fire Department has confirmed that the alarm was not activated by a student. Administrators, security personnel, faculty, and staff were present throughout the fire evacuation, and students returned to the building promptly. Prior to the walkout, one altercation occurred between two male students; staff intervened immediately and resolved the situation quickly. The school day concluded without further incident.
