🇺🇸 D-DAY REMEMBRANCE | JUNE 6, 1944 🇺🇸

Today we honor the courage, sacrifice, and determination of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy 82 years ago.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave service members faced unimaginable danger in the fight for freedom. Their actions changed the course of history and helped secure the liberties we enjoy today.

As we remember the heroes of D-Day, we also recognize the generations of veterans who have answered the call to serve our nation.

May we never forget the sacrifices made on that historic day and the price paid for freedom.

🚨 SCAM ALERT FOR VETERANS 🚨

Lapeer County Veteran Services wants to make veterans and their families aware of a phishing scam involving text messages that appear to come from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Scammers are sending messages claiming your VA profile is missing address information and urging you to click a link to "update" your account.
These messages are designed to steal personal information through fake websites that look legitimate.

❗ If you or a veteran you know receives one of these texts:
✅ Do NOT click any links in the message
✅ Verify directly with the VA by visiting VA.gov or calling 800-827-1000
✅ Report suspected fraud at VSAFE.gov or call 833-38V-SAFE (833-388-7233)
✅ Contact the VA immediately if you believe your information may have been compromised

⭐️ Remember: The VA may send appointment reminders or claim updates by text, but they will never require you to click a link in a text message to provide personal or address information.
