πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Today, our community gathers on DeMille Boulevard to celebrate Flag Day and honor 250 years of American history.

Despite the rain, residents, veterans, elected officials, and community partners have come together for the dedication of Lapeer’s new flagpole, a symbol of the freedoms, sacrifices, and shared values that unite us as a nation.

For 250 years, the American flag has represented courage, service, and the enduring spirit of our country. Today’s ceremony serves as a reminder of those who have served before us and the responsibility we all share to preserve the ideals it represents.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion.

Happy Flag Day, Lapeer. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Every square tells a story.

During May 2026, City of Lapeer Fire & Rescue responded to 53 incidents while also conducting training, participating in community events, hosting station tours, and meeting with community partners.

A few highlights from the month included:
β€’ 53 emergency incidents
β€’ CBRNE training exercises
β€’ Department training sessions
β€’ Station tours and public education activities
β€’ Community events including LEAF Live, the Veterans Fair, a food truck event, and a visit to Lynch Elementary School

When the public sees a fire truck responding to an emergency, that's only a small part of what goes into providing fire and rescue services. Behind every response are hours of training, preparation, equipment maintenance, inspections, planning, and community engagement.

Thank you to our firefighters, officers, support staff, and community partners who help make this work possible every day.

We remain committed to serving our community with integrity, professionalism, and kindness.
