The Lapeer County Road Commission will be closed in observance of the Labor Day holiday on:

We will resume our normal business hours at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

If you experience a non-emergency road issue while our office is closed, please submit a "Report an Issue" form through our website. Our staff will review your submission and respond as soon as possible when we return.

IMLAY CITY ROAD UPDATE between City of Lapeer and Lake Pleasant Road.
Milling operation was completed! Contractor will be placing first lift of asphalt surfacing starting today September 1, 2026 and continue with placement of asphalt throughout the week. Traffic control regulators will be present, expect delays. Schedule is tentative on weather.

🚦🚧 IMLAY CITY ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 🚧🚦

Important traffic signal update: Later today, the traffic signals at Imlay City Rd & Myers Rd and Imlay City Rd & Wilder Rd will be placed into 4-way red flash mode for the duration of the construction project.

🛑 All traffic must treat these intersections as 4-way STOP intersections.

Please slow down, watch for other traffic, and proceed with caution. When construction equipment is working within the intersections, please follow the directions of the traffic regulators (flaggers).

Milling Operations Crews will start at Myers Rd and work proceeding east.

🚧 CONSTRUCTION ALERT – IMLAY CITY ROAD - UPDATED! 🚧
The long-anticipated Imlay City Road resurfacing project is starting this week!

📅 Starting Friday, August 28, 2026

🚫 IMLAY CITY ROAD WILL BE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
From Myers Road easterly to Lake Pleasant Road — approximately 6 miles.

⏳ The project is expected to take 4–6 weeks, weather and construction conditions permitting. Traffic Regulators (Flaggers) will be present - EXPECT LONG DELAYS. Please plan ahead OR use alternate routes during construction.

🛣️ What’s Happening? The project will include:
* Milling the existing asphalt pavement
* Two lifts of new asphalt resurfacing
* Aggregate shoulders
* New pavement markings

🔄 To Avoid Long Delays - Alternate Routes include, but are not limited to:
➡️ I-69
➡️ Newark Road

💰 This project is being funded through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), along with matching funds provided by the Lapeer County Road Commission.

🙏 We know a 6-mile closure will impact a lot of people, but this is a significant investment in Imlay City Road and the future of our county road system. Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and give our construction crews plenty of room to work safely.
