Lapeer County Road Commission Lapeer County Road Commission (CRC) started maintaining roads in 1932. Currently, we maintain 1,310 miles of roadway, within 18 Townships.

☀️🚧 County Road Update – Tuesday, June 2, 2026 🚧☀️
This summer is going to be busy. Crews are already trying to fit all of the road work into the few short summer months. We anticipate that this year's Road Paving projects will hopefully start shortly after July 4th, so crews are busy fixing the drainage and underground items before the new asphalt is placed. Here's what's happening today:

🚫 ROAD CLOSURES - Short Term 🚫
Please plan ahead and seek alternate routes where possible.
🚧Dryden Rd closed between Glover Rd and County Line and between Kidder Rd to Glover Rd for cross culvert replacement.
🚧Hadley Rd closed between Merwin Rd and Lippincott Rd (in AM) and then moving between Merwin Rd and Sullivan Rd (in PM) for cross culvert replacement,
🚧Barnes Rd between Watson Rd and M-53 will be closed for ditching operations.
🚧Hadley Rd between Sullivan Rd and Lippincott Rd will have temporary traffic delays as crews deliver and install cross culverts.

🚫 ROAD CLOSURES - Long Term 🚫
🚧Blacks Corners Rd between Linck Rd and Haslick Rd remains closed due to a failed cross culvert. The road will remain closed until a new culvert can be installed and the roadway safely restored.
🚧Graham Rd between I-69 and Imlay City Rd (north of Rider Rd) remains closed until further notice due to a culvert failure. Please follow posted detours.
🚧McKillop Bridge between Merrill Rd and Jefferson Rd remains closed until further notice.

Welcome to June! While summer is right around the corner, our crews are already hard at work across the county improving roads, replacing culverts, and maintaining drainage systems. Here's what's happening today:

🚫 ROAD CLOSURES - Short Term 🚫

🚧🚗 MDOT Carpool Lot Closure Notice – Lapeer County 🚗🚧

On behalf of the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), please be advised that three (3) carpool lots in Lapeer County will be temporarily closed this week for reconstruction and paving operations.

📍 Affected Locations:
1️⃣ M-90 (Burnside Road) – Just east of M-53
2️⃣ M-90 in the Village of North Branch – Between Brush Street and Baldwin Avenue
3️⃣ M-24 at Millington Road

📅 Tentative Schedule:
🚧 The two (2) lots along M-90 are expected to close on Tuesday.
🚧 The M-24 / Millington Road lot is expected to close on Wednesday.

🛣️ Construction Activities:
All three lots are scheduled to be paved on Wednesday.
Shoulder restoration and pavement markings are expected to be completed by Friday.

⚠️ Please plan ahead and avoid these carpool lots while construction is underway. We appreciate your patience as MDOT completes these improvements.
