The August Park Board meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m. today, has been relocated to the Civic Auditorium. The Park Office remains without power after the August 11 storm. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The LaPorte County Health Department has issued a Swim with Caution Advisory for Stone Lake Beach. The water tested Tuesday showed above satisfactory E. coli bacteria levels in this location. All other areas of Pine and Stone lakes tested within the satisfactory range.

Under the Swim with Caution, the Health Department recommends patrons avoid swallowing water and shower immediately upon returning from the lake. Individuals with open wounds or decreased immune system function should avoid the affected waters entirely. For more information, contact the Health Department at 219-326-6808 x 2200. Beach conditions can also be tracked at https://portal.idem.in.gov/BeachAlert.

The Park Office remains without power and will close at 11:30 a.m. so staff can work at City Hall. We are still determining any venue change for today’s Park Board meeting.

We are opening restrooms in locations with power.

Beechwood Golf Course (walking only because of the overnight rain) and the Civic Auditorium are open. The Activity Center for Older Adults is closed.

Enjoy Country, Rock and Pop band Trouble Blind as part of the Arts in the Park Summer Concert Series at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Dennis F. Smith Amphitheater in Fox Park. The concert was rescheduled from July 16.

The ​preconcert entertainment, featuring New Groove, begins at 6. Also includes art exhibits and classes, poetry readings, food trucks and raffles. For more information, visit www.artsintheparklaporte.com.

Update from Beechwood Golf Course: Open fully on Tuesday. See attached post for more information.

We will be opening tonight for Men’s League! Non-League Members can come play from 1:00-5:00. We do have some limitations today but we will be open for regular play in full tomorrow morning with carts! It will feel good to see people with golf clubs today! Thank you for your patience.

NIPSCO will host a community event Monday in the parking lot at the La Porte Civic Auditorium. Lunch served at noon, dinner at 4:30 p.m. Come out for some free food and to get answers to your questions.

The Coed Softball Upper League wrapped up their season on Monday night.
