We’re monitoring the risk of severe thunderstorms this afternoon, courtesy of a disturbance lifting out of Missouri this morning. Confidence is low on how this threat evolves. However, damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary hazards from storms this afternoon through late this evening.

04/12/2026

The severe weather risk for Tuesday has been updated to include the bulk of our forecast area in a slight risk as ingredients appear to spread through the area.

04/02/2026

Shallow thunderstorms with embedded areas of rotation are what we’re watching with these initial thunderstorms. As a result, a tornado or two will be the main threat over the next couple of hours. Given how moist the atmosphere is, heavy rain is also a threat with these storms.
