β€œLa Porte County friends and neighbors, we are asking for our community to rise up, rally together, and lift Deputy Jon Samuelson and his family in prayer and support during this incredibly challenging time.

Now more than ever, we need our residents across the county to stand together in strength, faith, and support for one of our own. Deputy Samuelson has dedicated his life to serving and protecting this county, and we ask everyone now to stand beside him and his loved ones with prayer and solidarity.

Please keep Jon, his family, and the entire LCSO law enforcement community in your thoughts and prayers.”

During National Police Week, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the law enforcement officers who serve and protect our communities every day.

As dispatchers, we hear the calls, the urgency, the uncertainty, and the strength behind every response. We are grateful to stand beside the officers who answer those calls without hesitation.

Thank you for your service, your bravery, and your commitment to keeping our communities safe. We remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and we continue to support the officers and families who carry that legacy forward.

Stay safe, and know your service matters β€” today and every day. πŸ’™πŸš”

The most rewarding, fulfilling part of being a first responder has to be a day like today. This kiddo got share his special day with the ones that were there with him on his worst day.

Happy Birthday, Major! πŸŽˆπŸŽŠπŸŽ‰

We were pleased today to have some of our Community partners stop by the school. Today Detective Gorny and Captain Hynek of the La Porte County Sheriff's Office stopped by to visit a Pine Panther on his very special birthday. As many of you remember Major, a 3rd grader here at Pine was involved in a life threatening accident at the start of fall break. After a hard fought recovery, which continues today, Major was able to walk back into our school a few months ago. This is a very special birthday for Major and it was wonderful that two of the responding officers were able to share it with him. Thank you Detective Gorny and Captain Hynek for all you do for our community.

National Public Safety Dispatcher Week 2026 begins Sunday 4/12 and ends on the 18th.

Let us remember the voices that never get to hang up.

The 911 dispatcher’s who stay on the line while someone takes their last breath.

The one’s who hear the crash… but cannot leave their chair.

The one’s who give CPR instructions while their own hands are shaking.

The one’s who tell a mom how to help her baby β€” and then have to answer the next call like nothing happened.

No sirens.
No scene tape.
No medals.

Just a headset…
and memories that don’t clock out.

This coming week, if you know a dispatcher β€”
Thank them.
They carry the calls home.

We are always looking for ideas on how to recognize our dedicated 911 professionals and to show appreciation for a job well done.

A while back, one of our dispatchers who transitioned from EMS and quickly excelled in her position to become a trainer, an assistant supervisor, and part of our CIT program, brought to us the idea of a Tree of Life. This is not something new to a 911 communication center, but new to ours. The Tree of Life is to recognize our heroes every time they have a CPR save, or have a child birth.

These are big moments for our professionals to be proud of, as they are all trained to give step by step instructions over the phone to save a life and bring a life into this world. We want them to be reminded of this when they come into the room. Nikki has had this tree of life designed for our Center with some of our heroes already on it to be recognized. Thank you, Nikki.

Thank you to Emiley Beck, Beck’s Banners for the design.
