New language to existing law - Takes effect July 1st

Governor Brad Little signed a bill into law that more-clearly defines where a s*x offender can live. It adds the term “Habitually lives” to make things more restrictive and define limitations for homeless offenders.

The new definition includes any place where that person lives, sleeps, or visits for more than 5 hours more than 5 times per month. It changes the word “residence” to include the sleeping and visiting qualifications.

The law takes effect July 1st.

Final 2025 numbers are out for Idaho's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) cyber tips

2025 was a year of hard work and real impact for Idaho ICAC.

A CyberTip is a report made when child s*xual exploitation is suspected online and sent to NCMEC for investigation. Over 6,000 CyberTips in 2025 in Idaho can be compared to around 3,500 in 2024.

135 ICAC arrests around the state shows the hard work going into combatting this issue and the statewide collaboration that takes. Thank you to all our law enforcement partners across the state for your work in protecting kids online in Idaho.

S*xtortion involves threatening or coercing a child to send s*xual images—often using fear or shame to maintain control.
These numbers represent real cases, real victims, and the importance of reporting.

We are hoping 2026 brings continued collaboration effort and support to continue this work!

The Nez Perce Tribal Police, SORNA, and the Lapwai School District Superintendent would like to remind everyone of the following policy:

Registered Offenders can only attend sport/school events their children are participating in and must have an approved parent/legal guardian plan on file for such attendance. Any violation of this policy may be a citation or arrest for a safety zone violation.
