Last week was our annual Awards Lab! Local organizations, alumni, and community members join us to recognize the outstanding efforts and achievements of our cadets. We are very appreciative of their generosity.
We welcomed several distinguished visitors including Governor Mark Gordon, who administered an oath for our new group of contacting cadets. We are very thankful to the members of the Wyoming Army National Guard, including Major General Porter, who also joined us.
Congratulations to all of our cadets, and here’s to another year of excellence!

Last week, our MS4’s headed to Dubois, WY to visit the National Museum of Military Vehicles. Cadets spent the day examining, exploring, and reading about the history of the U.S. military. They had the awesome opportunity to climb into several real vehicles! A huge thank you to the entire Museum team for being generous hosts! Your team always creates a unique, engaging, and inspiring experience for us.

Last week we celebrated our annual joint Military Ball with our teammates from ! Cadets gathered with their friends and family. We were joined by several special guests including Colonel Jeremy Cotton, an alumni of Detachment 940. His shared stories reminded our cadets what it means to be a Cowboy. By this, he means, leaders with unyielding courage, unbeatable optimism, and fearless independence. Thank you to our distinguished visitors, family, and friends for joining us. We truly value the support and care you offer our Batallion and Detachment.

DAY FOUR OF JFTX!!!

We are proud to carry on the tradition of a joint exercise with our teammates from . Each year, our cadets prove why this training is so valuable. Their limits are pushed by weather and terrain, but they never quit. That is the Mountain West standard. Best of luck to the MSIIIs at Advanced Camp this summer! Congratulations to our cadets, cadre, and faculty who were recognized for their outstanding contributions. See you again next year!

DAY TWO OF JFTX!!!

These cadets proved they get the job done no matter the weather. They successfully completed four lanes of STX (Situational Training Exercises), using knowledge learned from weekly tactical and skills labs. The joint nature of the event allowed Cadets from both schools learn how to adapt to a new team and accomplish the mission.

DAY ONE OF JFTX!!!

Our contracted cadets hitched a ride to Guernsey on a Blackhawk, courtesy of the Wyoming Army National Guard! A huge thanks to their team for facilitating the trip. After landing, cadets were issued their weapons- either M4s, M249s, or M240s. Seniors branching Infantry briefed the basics of the crew-served weapons. While MS3s ran through EST, MS1s and MS2s received a Preliminary Marksmanship Instruction (PMI) class. Then, it was off to the field to sleep under the stars before a rigorous day of Situational Training Exercise (STX) lanes!

Last Wednesday was packed! With FTX coming up, PT was a team-building, spirited morning of dodgeball. Next up, a few of our seniors spent time connecting with students at the Laramie High School career fair. In the afternoon, cadets conducted Preparatory Lab, which is the first event of our annual Joint Field Training Exercise with Colorado State University. Cadets conducted a gear layout, received safety and Road to War briefs, and packed rucks to prepare for the event.

Concurrently, we conducted our Cowboy For A Day event, hosting LTC Johnson and cadets from Natrona County High School’s Mustang Battalion. We’d like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the Mustang Battalion team for their willingness to come learn what it means to be in the Cowboy Battalion.
