In the past there has been some confusion, concern and misinformation shared, when ballots are sent out and there are multiple elections going on. In hopes of keeping our community well informed, we would like to share that the Clerk's Office is conducting a Special District Subsequent Director Election for The Pope Springs Community Special Road Improvement District concurrently with the Countywide May 5th 1% Specific Purpose Tax Election.

What this means:

-Ballots began going out today (4/7) for the 1% Specific Purpose Tax Election and will be mailed daily as requests come in through May 4th.

-Ballots for the Subsequent Director Election for Pope Springs will be mailed to all eligible voters on Friday April 10th. (eligible voters are registered voters and landowners in the district)

So....It is possible that those within the Pope Springs District requested a ballot for the 1% Specific Purpose Tax Election and as a result will receive two ballots this week or next. Below is a picture with the outside of each of those envelopes to show the difference so you can be assured they are different ballots. For those receiving both it is important that you place the correct ballot in the proper envelope.

As with all things, if you have questions or concerns please call our office immediately so that we may answer your questions and/or alleviate any concerns you may have. 307-721-2546

The Albany County Treasurer's Office reminds all residents that all Wyoming registered vehicles including cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, ATVs, MPVs, should be equipped with the updated 2025 series license plate displaying a 2026 expiration date. The standard issue new series plate resembles the Wyoming State Flag and is easily distinguished from other issues. All prior issued plates are no longer valid. Those with a low number plate should convert their license plates to the new series by January 31, 2026 to avoid the risk of losing their plate number.

Please take note...we are very low on supply of license plates. See the notice below:
