Hey Laramie Police Department and Laramie Fire Department .. I hear you have a fun competition and friendly wager coming up this weekend?!?!

🔥 Fire up your appetite! 🔥
As part of the Albany County 4-H & FFA Fair, the BBQ Cook-Off Competition is happening this weekend—and it's shaping up to be a lot of fun!

Friday evening kicks things off with the Kids' Hamburger Competition, then on Saturday the grills and smokers fire up for two divisions: the Expert BBQ Competition and the Backyard BBQ Competition.

🌭 But here's where it gets interesting...Laramie and Laramie Fire Department are stepping into the Backyard BBQ Division with a friendly side wager to settle one very important question...
Who makes the better BBQ? 👮🚒

If you've ever been around police officers and firefighters, you know they've always had a fun rivalry. They'll tease each other over just about anything, so you can bet the department that comes out on top will be reminding the other about it for a long, long time!

A big thank you to Chano's Village for generously donating the entry fees for both the Laramie Police and Laramie Fire Department teams.

🥩 People's Choice Tasting & Voting begins at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, with the UW Cowgirls Volleyball Team serving up all those delicious BBQ samples.

The best part? YOU get to help decide the winner! Your $15 admission gets you to sample and vote from both the Expert and Backyard divisions. Maybe one of the seasoned pitmasters takes home the title... or maybe one of our hometown heroes from LPD or LFD earns the ultimate bragging rights.

Either way, you know whichever department gets more votes will never let the other one live it down. 😄

Laramie Fire Department continues to support Albany County Fire District #1 by providing an Incident Commander to assist with coordinating crews and managing resources after firefighters worked through the night on the Fish Creek Fire. We appreciate the dedication of all responding agencies working together to protect our community and natural resources.
