Great job by our members following a busy week of emergency responses. This past Tuesday, our crews responded to two separate structure fires within our district on the same day. Incidents like these underscore the ongoing need for increased staffing within our department.
The second fire occurred in a residence and the responding crew was staffed with only three firefighters. As always, our members relied on their training and professionalism to successfully manage the incident and achieve a positive outcome. We are proud of the work they performed under challenging circumstances however the reality remains that there are far too many days when only three firefighters are on duty to protect our village and its residents.
While our members consistently rises to the occasion, ensuring adequate staffing is essential to maintaining the level of service and protection that this community deserves.
