With more than 26 years of dedicated service, Chief Vasquez has exemplified leadership, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to securing our Nation’s borders. From the front lines to executive leadership, his career reflects the very best of the Border Patrol mission.

As he assumes command of nearly 20,000 agents and professional staff, we look forward to his leadership in guiding the U.S. Border Patrol into its next chapter.

Today is personal for me.

Before I ever had the privilege of leading this organization, I wore the green uniform and stood the line alongside the men and women of the US Border Patrol. I know the sacrifices made behind the badge, the long nights, the missed moments with family, and the pride that comes with serving something greater than yourself.

For 102 years, Border Patrol agents have answered the call with courage, grit, and an unwavering commitment to protecting this nation. I could not be prouder to have been one of them.

Happy 102nd Birthday to the U.S. Border Patrol and to every agent, past and present, who continues to carry the mission forward.
