Weโ€™re wrapping up our educational video series with Jennifer Mirabal from the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

In this final interview, Jennifer answers one of the communityโ€™s biggest questions โ€” where does the money from Fill the Boot go, and how does it help make a difference?

From funding research and medical care to supporting families and children living with neuromuscular diseases, every donation helps change lives.

Thank you, Laredo, for continuing to support the MDA mission and helping us Fill the Boot today!

โš ๏ธ WEATHER ALERT FOR LAREDO & WEBB COUNTY โš ๏ธ

The potential for severe weather is increasing tonight through Wednesday morning across the Laredo area. Strong to severe thunderstorms may develop with the potential for:
๐Ÿ’จ Wind gusts
๐ŸŒง๏ธ Heavy rainfall
๐Ÿšง Localized flash flooding

The National Weather Service has placed portions of our area under a Level 2 (Slight Risk) for severe weather and excessive rainfall.

NOW is the time to prepare:
โœ”๏ธ Secure loose outdoor items
โœ”๏ธ Charge phones and devices
โœ”๏ธ Avoid driving through flooded roadways
โœ”๏ธ Have multiple ways to receive weather alerts overnight

Remember: Turn Around, Donโ€™t Drown.
The Laredo Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and respond as needed to keep our community safe. Stay weather aware and follow trusted sources for updates.

The Laredo Fire Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Chief Robert Rocha for attending one of our Chief Leadership meetings and sharing his wisdom, experience, and passion for the fire service with our leadership team.

Chief Rochaโ€™s distinguished career and decades of service have left a lasting impact on the fire service across our state and nation. His leadership during some of the most challenging times, including natural disasters, public health emergencies, and department growth, serves as an example of what true public service looks like. Beyond the accomplishments and titles, Chief Rocha reminded us of the importance of leading with integrity, putting people first, and never losing sight of the responsibility we carry as firefighters and leaders within our communities.

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from a respected leader whose legacy continues to inspire the next generation of fire service professionals.

Thank you, Chief Rocha, for your continued dedication to the fire service and for investing in the future of leadership.
