🚛🌧️ Inspiring the next generation!

DPW&T’s Office of Storm Drain Maintenance recently visited Columbia Park Elementary School for Career Day, giving students a hands-on look at the important work our crews do every day to keep Prince George’s County safe and moving.

Students had the opportunity to explore a storm drain vacuum truck and a mini dump truck while learning how storm drain maintenance helps prevent flooding, protects our waterways, and keeps communities running smoothly.

Thank you to Columbia Park Elementary for welcoming our team and helping us spark curiosity about careers in public works! 👷🏾‍♂️👷🏽‍♀️

Heads up! Construction for the Purple Line will result in a closure of Ellin Road between Harkins Road and Emerson Place through Spring 2026.

While we do not manage this project, we want to keep our community informed. Please plan for extra travel time, follow posted detours, and use caution when traveling through the area.
