This past weekend, our placemaking team had a great time connecting with residents at Trolley Trail Day in Hollywood/North College Park and Hyattsville.

We were blown away by everyone who joined us at The Future is Suitland Celebration, showing us exactly what it means to show up for your community!

Over 300 people came out to celebrate the incredible accomplishments of the Suitland area, including $1 million in grant funding to push our ongoing and future projects in the future Suitland Cultural Arts District. We had such a blast celebrating with everyone and providing updates on the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy.

But our work doesn't end there. Our team is working to finalize the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy to be released in late summer and install the Suitland Water Tower Art Banners by 2027. Let's keep the momentum going for our community and stay involved!

Never miss an update, sign up for email notifications for this project at: pgplan.org/suitland-cultural-arts.

Sunshine, community, and a whole lot of spirit at Marlboro Day!

Our placemaking team loved continuing a tradition of connecting with residents in our County seat (and former office home). We set up our placemaking container in front of the County Administration Building and really got to enjoy the parade and meeting so many of you.

It was a beautiful day… and a hot one! 🔥

Prince George’s County took real steps toward a healthier, more equitable food landscape over the past five years.

What we’re doing:
• Go Prince George’s calls for expanding bike/pedestrian connectivity and access to healthy food options.
• The Zoning Rewrite created incentives for healthier food development and restricts drive thrus in key areas.
• Continued support for the Food Equity Council which ensures SNAP is accepted at famers markets and advocates for funding fresh produce.

Why it matters:
Reducing fast food density while increasing healthier alternatives supports the County’s public health goals, such as combating obesity, diabetes, and other diet-related diseases, while opening the door for local restaurants and higher-quality commercial uses.
