Home values are rising in Prince George’s County, which is a sign of a strong housing market. The 12% increase in median home value between 2019 and 2022 can mean more equity for homeowners and investments in our communities.

At the same time, expanding housing diversity, including “missing middle” typologies, is important to keep housing accessible for everyone as the market evolves.

The O’Dea House in Charlton Heights (now Berwyn Heights) was built from house pattern No. 216, published in Artistic Modern Houses of Low Cost, a popular source of nationwide mail order house designs during the Victorian era.
The O’Dea House is a standout example of Queen Anne–style architecture, featuring:
🔸 A three story polygonal tower
🔸 Decorative half timbering
🔸 Diamond-pattern shingles
🔸 Classic asymmetry and ornate detail
The O’Dea family owned the home from 1939-1999. In 1987, it was named to the National Register of Historic Places.

Join us in celebrating the next generation of creative talent! Nine students from Suitland High School's Center for the Visual and Performing Arts were selected to help shape a future public art installation in the Suitland Cultural Arts District.

Working alongside professional artist LaToya Peoples, these talented young artists spent the summer developing original concepts for a public art piece as part of the Suitland Cultural Arts Implementation Strategy. Their creativity, vision, and dedication will help bring new public art to the community and leave a lasting impact on Suitland's cultural landscape.
