We were honored to host the bi-monthly Coffee An' Networking event for the Central Pinellas Chamber of Commerce and welcome so many local business and community leaders to our campus.

It was a pleasure to share more about our programs and services for individuals who are blind or have low vision, while also providing a few hands-on sensory experiences during the networking portion of the event. These activities offered attendees a glimpse into some of the daily challenges our clients may face and highlighted how Lighthouse of Pinellas empowers people of all ages to live independently and confidently.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. We appreciate the opportunity to build new connections, increase awareness, and strengthen partnerships throughout our community.

Meet Cali! Cali is making incredible strides toward traveling independently and confidently! Using her toddler belt cane, she has already achieved about 90% confidence navigating indoor environments and continues to build new skills every day.

Currently, Cali is working on confidently traveling through doorways, navigating cracks in sidewalks, stepping on and off curbs and ramps, and exploring different walking surfaces. Every step forward helps her gain greater independence and confidence in the world around her.

Cheering her on every step of the way are her Early Intervention Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), Joanne, and her proud big brother! We are so proud of Cali's determination, hard work, and growing independence. Keep up the amazing work, Cali, you are inspiring us all!

Thank you to Julie from the Safety Harbor Recreation - Government for joining our Adult Lunch & Listen group and sharing all the exciting events, classes, programs, and activities happening throughout the summer!

Julie highlighted a variety of opportunities designed for adults and seniors, many of which are free or low-cost. Even better, you don't have to be a Safety Harbor resident to enjoy many of these wonderful offerings.

At Lighthouse of Pinellas, we believe vision loss shouldn't prevent anyone from staying active, engaged, and connected to their community. We are grateful to community partners like Julie and the City of Safety Harbor who help open doors to new experiences and opportunities for lifelong learning and recreation. Thank you for encouraging our clients to get out, explore, and discover all that our community has to offer!
