Protecting Disability Rights: Your Voice Matters. For more than 50 years, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act has helped protect people with disabilities and older adults from discrimination and supported the right to live, receive services, and participate in our communities.

Today, those protections are facing a challenge.

Florida is currently participating in Texas v. Kennedy, a lawsuit challenging federal regulations that help protect the rights of people with disabilities and older adults to receive services in their communities. Fourteen states have already withdrawn from the litigation, and Florida has the opportunity to do the same.

At Lighthouse of Pinellas, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live independently, access the services they need, and fully participate in their community.

Your voice can make a difference.

You do not have to be a Florida resident to participate. Disability Rights Florida welcomes signatures from people with disabilities, older adults, family members, advocates, advocacy organizations, community organizations, and allies across the country.
